Ravens lead, 19-15; 12-5 at home; 11-4 at M&T Bank
» Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis returns to Baltimore for the first time with no Ravens remaining from his defense that forged the 2000 Super Bowl title. Middle linebacker Ray Lewis, who retired after last season, was the last one.
» Ravens head coach John Harbaugh, the only coach since the 1970 merger to win a postseason game in each of his first five seasons, made his head coaching debut against the Bengals in the 2008 opener; at M&T Bank and the Ravens won, 17-10.
» The Ravens are the old Cleveland Browns, founded and later coached by Bengals founder Paul Brown for the first 17 seasons of their existence. Brown made it to the playoffs the first six years Cleveland was in the NFL from 1950-55 and had a 4-3 record in the postseason with three NFL titles.
» While Lewis has deep ties to Baltimore, Harbaugh goes as deep in Cincinnati. He played at Miami of Ohio and coached at the University of Cincinnati in the late '80s to mid '90s.
» Former Bengals safety Jeromy Miles, who led Cincinnati in special teams tackles in 2011 and was second in 2012, has four special teams tackles for the Ravens.
» Former Bengals running back Bernard Scott, who is on the Ravens roster but has yet to play in a game, was impressive in his games vs. Baltimore. He had 126 yards on 26 carries that included a 25-yard touchdown run.
» While the Ravens have some former Bengals players, the Bengals have some former Ravens coaches. Running backs coach Hue Jackson was Harbaugh's first quarterbacks coach from 2008-09 and secondary coach Mark Carrier had the same job under both Brian Billick and Harbaugh from 2006-09. Bengals head strength coach Chip Morton worked under Ravens head strength coach Jeff Friday from 1999-2001. Friday was the head man under Billick and has assisted Morton in Cincinnati since 2010. Special teams coach Darrin Simmons broke into the NFL in 1998 as the Ravens assistant special teams coach and assistant strength coach.
